Composite resin fillings are highly aesthetic comared to silver fillings which can be used in front teeth as well as back teeth. The composite fillings are high in strength so that they can be used in posterior teeth restorations which take lot of load during mastication.

Unlike silver fillings the resin material will be bonded to the natural teeth so the chances of microleakage is minimal compared top silver fillings. The bonding helps in less chances of microleakage causing secondary decay of the teeth
pROCEDURE
- Material Composition: Composite fillings are made from a tooth-colored resin material composed of a mixture of plastic and fine glass particles, making them aesthetically pleasing and suitable for visible teeth.
- Uses: They are used to repair decayed, chipped, or broken teeth, as well as to improve the appearance of discolored or misshapen teeth.
- Procedure: The dentist cleans out the decayed area of the tooth, applies the composite material in layers, and then hardens it with a special curing light. The filling is shaped and polished to match the natural tooth structure.
- Aesthetic Advantage: Composite fillings blend seamlessly with the natural tooth color, providing a more discreet and natural appearance compared to amalgam (metal) fillings.
